I was at a local shop today and spotted a .50 cal replica of a English Sporing Rifle. It looked much like this http://www.trackofthewolf.com.../partList.aspx?catID=13&subID=80&styleID=1119

The barrel was marked Antonio Zoli with but no reference to rifle twist. Price was about $500.
I've got a Zoli Zouave that is a real shooter but don't know anything about their other rifles.

Anyone here know anything about these rifles or have any experience with them?
Do you know what the twist rate is?

Also it had a bright bore and though handled, it didn't look as though it had ever been fired. Anyoine think it would be a good buy?

well....I have seen alot of Zoli made rifles...
but never one like that! They are great shooters but I would say the price is high.....
are you sure it is not a pieced together rifle? a zoli barrel on another stock?

That thought crossed my mind, My zoli zouave is actually a CVA with a zoli barrel. It could be that this is the same kind of deal. But no other maker's marks redily stood out at me. I may have to go back and look at it again but I think that the only manufacturer id was Zoli.

It didn't look like a peiced together rifle because it had machine-cut rather thatn hand-cut checkering and fake color case hardening that matched on the patch-box, nose cap, hammer, and lock plate.

they are a zoli replica of the gibs rifle, i have seen one a long time ago i think it had a fairly fast twist, the one i saw was a very good shooter.i cant remember what the cal was but it was probely a 50 as well the guy was shooting slugs out of it and hitting a 12" plough disk at 200 meters with every shot of hand they where long slugs thats all i can remember about it, but it was a very well made gun .
