Just introducing myself and have been reading a lot of good information here, so decided to join the forum.
Not new to muzzleloaders, but it has been 40 years since I owned / built one..... until now.
My first was a CVA Mountain Rifle in .50 cal. way back in 1978.
Shot and hunted with it for quite a bit back in the late 1970's, then life took over and it was given to my aunt and uncle to hang on their wall in a place of honor.
I keep asking if they would sell it back to me lately, but my uncle likes it so much he so far has refused.
When I retired last June, I was given a very special retirement gift.
It is the Kentucky (built from a Traditions kit) at the top of the picture below (hopefully the picture shows here).... my boss, a very good and wise for his age young man, and I had talked about guns, shooting, and life, and I had told him a very long time ago, muzzleloader's were the only thing I would shoot.
He remembered!
As you can see, the Kentucky has led to the St. Louis Hawken kit... which has led to the 3 pistols and bowie, which has led to me ordering a Traditions Crockett in .32 cal... as of today, my Crockett has just left Denver, and should be here tomorrow!
I am on only my 2nd coat of boiled linseed oil on both of the rifles, and they are starting to take shape.
