I have my great grand dads old black power rifle I rate it a 5 out of 10 I'd just like some info on it the barrel is stamped
"P HATCHER" just like to know about when and where it was built thanks
 
P. Hatcher, Belmont Cty Ohio. I see him listed as having made a known flintlock and percussion rifles, so it could be an earlier gun. Need pictures.
 
thanks i will try to get some pics this evening and post I did find out the lock was built by Henry Lehman of Conestoga Rilfe Works out of PA
 
Henry Leman's Connestoga Rifle Works was in operation circa 1834-1867 which would narrow the date some,given the lock wasn't one salvaged from another rifle to build a new one.
