Fella came by my dads store knowing we shoot flintlocks and had one he'd picked up in an estate sell. Pretty wood, old, and pretty decent craftsmanship (and he sold it for song) so dad bought it. Went to take a look over the weekend and at first glance thought it was just a cheap lock...but then the roller frizzen and Siler style pan threw me for a loop. No markings other than some swirl/circle marks that I don't think are markings, but I'm not familiar with this lock. It functions smooth and sparks well, but looks like an old knockoff. But it feels like a solid piece with tight frizzen engagement. Also mounts with a single screw but screw bolts through a sleeve on the back side of the lock plate, not the plate itself. Anyone know what this is? Thanks.

Don't know why my photo links aren't working....looked fine in preview screen

I've tried everything....they work fine linking to other forums. Even uploaded them straight from my computer and still won't link over. Hopefully these directs will. I've never seen a CVA or any other general lock with the Germanic flash pan.

All previous links from post one will be totally dead now though....moved them in an attempt to fix.

I have 2 of those, Dixie sold 'em way back, good sparkers and I think DGW still has parts....

That's good news....I've been impressed with it thus far. This lock seems to function as well as any high-end lock I own....but it definitely looks like the cheaper knock offs out there. Hopefully it's a proverbial Ferrari in Yugo clothing:) I'll check out DGW too....if it shoots well wouldn't mind buying a few spare parts to keep on-hand.

Hopefully we'll get to shoot this weekend. Dad pulled the gun down for thorough cleaning and inspection, and the stock is dry as powder, but it's solid. It's sucking up oil as we speak.

Bingo! Found some images. It's DGW from the early-mid 70's....but the one's I found are plain lock plates...not engraved, but the springs and internals are identical.
