Does the gate open enough to drop shot into the spout? Say, 7 1/2 or 8's?

EDIT: Gave it a try with some #6 and it worked ok, but not as well as as a flask with an English, Irish, or one of the flame-proof style heads. The cutter flows shot, but may get jammed open with pellets caught between the spout opening and the cutter, or the cutter and the inner flask wall. A couple photos of the inside of the spring-top style and the flame-proof style.
