Would like to see more pics if I may. have you shot any round balls out of it? What kind of load does it like?

I’ve shot nothing but round balls out of it. Patched and bare with wadding. Still working up a load for it. Up to 70 gr of 2F right now is consistently getting me a 6 to 7” grouping at 50 yards. I’ve been using .495 balls with a denim patch. My next plan was to try .500 and .520 balls, but haven’t got that far yet. How about pics of yours? I can take more tomorrow. I built this in sort of a poor boy style without a ramrod entry thimble and no side plate.

Do a search on my name as I have posted pics of rifle in percussion firearms. If you cant find them I will post new ones.

42” barrel. Cold blued metal, rubbed back to grey. Touch hole direct drilled to 5/64ths. May be considered too large for some, but Very fast ignition.

I built a rifle like that that might interest you. Allen Martin curly maple blank, rice .36 38" A weight barrel and a Chambers Dale johnson lock. It's been my squirrel hunting rifle this year and has killed a bushel of squirrels.

Nice rifle, what is the total length of this rifle? would it be possible to get an up close pic of the cheek piece and trigger guard?

Here ya go. For full disclosure this rifle is pretty crude. I thinned down the last bit of wood with scrapers and only lightly sanded it. It has tannic acid/iron nitrate for stain and nothing but heated beeswax soaked in for finish.
