Does anyone know how to get wood to look like this?

You'll have to be a bit more specific. Are you talking about the stock sheen? The color?
 
As above. Buy expensive curly maple. Get the surface very smooth and whiskered using your favorite techniques. Pre-stain with tannic acid and rub back. Stain with aquafortis or analine dyes. Seal and finish.

I like a mellow finish but everyone has their own taste.
