Took my CVA Hunter Hawkens out.It was misting rain and snow,so not the best for setting sights. But I decided to adjust for 50 yards.I was shooting PB and 385Gr. Great Plains Bullets, pushed by 90Gr. Powder.

Found I had to cut the Front Sight down.Quit at this, two of each in the Bull. The lower shot is GP Bullet, don't think I had right Sight Picture. But I think I'm good to go for Slickheads this weekend.

Nice shooting! I loved my CVA Hunter-Hawken and took many deer with it w/ PRB. I may have to bring it out of retirement to shoot with my "new" CVA St Louis Hawken. Looks like anything within 50 yards better watch out!

You know I bought a Newer CVA Hawkens before they quit making them,I had one before. It just seems the Older one shot better Groups than the New one.But it might be just needing alot more rounds shot through it.

This Hunter Hawkens I've had it couple years never have used it,seems pretty well built.

Thing is I was working with this rifle. My wife had forgot I had it.She asked just how many Guns I had? I told her she says and you was looking at a New one the other day.Buddy you have plenty you are not getting anymore.

Hey I always figured you can't have too many. :haha:

Looks like you are ready! A lot of people don't think much of the entry level CVA, but boy they'll do the job. I guess I'm lucky. Out of my four black powder rifles and two black powder handguns, my wife bought me two of the rifles and one of the handguns. Now it's time to go get some meat  .
