In the past I have attended historical reenactments including the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial. I am a collateral descendant of John Shields, gunsmith of the Lewis and Clark expedition. (Direct descendant of William Shields, one of his nine brothers.) Although I do not own a weapon, I have shot black powder at historical reenactments and wrote a book set in the black powder era. (Oregon, 1840s.) Joined because I am watching Daniel Boone and wanted to join some discussions on it.
