What betterrr way to celarrrbrate Talk Like A Pirate Day on the 19th me heartys than with arrr new arrrpropropriate pistol, to be surrre.

Sleek 1635 to 1650 Dutch/French flintlock as found here in the New World. .50 caliber smoothbore. 14" octagon-to-round barrel, black walnut, armory bright iron furniture including a belt hook.

Aye, 'tis also custom from port to starboard, crows'nest to bilge, and bloody bow to stern . Avast ye:

Funny thing is I looked at that and thought, that seems like an alden pistol. Good for you man. She's purty...

:metoo: I have the exact same pistol by Leonard Day that I got a little over a year ago from Don Dupuis who purchased the pistol "in the white" and did all the stock finishing work and polishing of the hardware. She's a beauty, definitely a two hander at 22" overall! :)

Hi Alden.
Super nice early pistol!! Leonard Day does a great job with these early guns. Yes, the perfect pirate pistol. :haha:
That 1635-1675 era I call the arcane lock period. :haha: Matchlock, Wheellock, Snaphaunce, Doglock, Miquelet, and all kinds of experimental variations, all used at the same time. My favorite gun period.
Congrats on a cool pistol.
Rick.

Shiver me timbers, Alden, but you do own some fine armaments!

Would ye be havin' a nice cutlass, and maybe a few handy daggers to carry along with that thar pistol?

LOL, Grumpa, of COURSE I have. My 17th-18th C. Dutch Cutlass...

Needs a fuller milled in just to make it a tad lighter though...

Nice pistol!! where did you get the cutlass? I've always liked swords, rapiers and daggers.
