Hey guys....putting together an 1861 from a kit, and I have used pin gauges to figure the bore at right around .580 (my .579 drops in and slides all the way to the breech plug, and the .581 doesn't really want to go in more than about 1/2 an inch). I think a .578 or .579 Minnie would fit the bill, but when I looked at molds, most of them are at .575 or .578. I was hoping to get a .580 and use sizers to finish them up..........any suggestions for a source for that mold??? thanks

You can try the RCBS Hodgdon North South skirmish mold. They are available in .580 also, but they are not esay to find right now.

As mentioned Moose Molds is another good source for mold. They have several kinds, in diffferent sizes.
