I just purchased a Smith carbine Model 1863. The rifle was in pristine condition. The hammer wasn't working, opened up the insides and there was small broken piece loose inside. Mainspring looks good. How does the mainspring attach to the tumbler?
picture attached of the broken piece. Where the best place to look for a tumbler? Thanks in advance. I welcome all comments, advice and general dog piling.
