I had some time off this past week and completed another file knife. This one is a more simple design and more or less a small utility knife. The overall length is 7” with a 3” blade, 4” antler handle and pewter bolster. The blade is 1/8” wide and 3/4” tall. It has a good feel in the hand with the curve of the antler. Should make for an all around handy little knife. Thinking about attaching it to my shooting bag strap or back of my bag with a sheath.

Thanks, I make these using the “no forge” method because I currently have no forge, Yet! 😆 I would love someday to forge and beat these out on an anvil! I cut the shapes out of the files with an angle grinder and cut off wheel, then grind the bevels on my belt sander keeping the blades cool with a dip in water every couple passes. I anneal the handles so I can drill pin holes and also anneal and retemper the blades sometimes depending on how hard they are so the edge isn‘t brittle. Still learning.
