FYI...I had been using Rush Creek .595s in my GM .62cal (.610 bore) with .018" pillow ticking, and I could thumb start them with a little effort.
Took a few minutes in the garage today and tried loading an 'Eddie May' .600 dia ball I had ordered a few weeks ago...had to use a short starter but it loaded very nicely with the same .018" pillow ticking

How is Eddie doing anyway? I use to shoot with him from time to time.

Sorry, don't know him personally...based on a referral from Birddog6 I ordered some .395 and .600 cast balls from him...they mic very consistently...looking forward to trying them
