Ok, I was never happy with the light color on my flintlock Hawken. So I took a furniture scraper to it and removed the finish. Then mixed up some leather dye and got the look I wanted. Actually matches my half stock Hawken too. I should add, I applied 4 coats of Tru oil/BLO MIX, and finished with Minwax dark for a final sealant.
