I would say it is a light to medium wool. Not winter weight.

David- Looks like it’s the one from Military Uniform Supply. Good quality I have heard.

It probably is- that sounds right. I ordered it over a year ago when my son seemed to have an interest in that era. He doesn't now, and I am 1840-65, so we don't need it anymore. It looks like a really nice coat, but I don't do Rev War so I am no expert.
