This is an older build of a .58 Virginia style flintlock rifle. It has a 39"×1" barrel with 1:66ish twist. Bore is bright with a very fine grain. No real pitting. Browned finish fading with minor spotting. The Maple stock has both relief and incise carving. Brass mounted. Engraved patchbox (lid latch needs minor tweaking). LOP 14.5 ". $1250 + Shipping.

Wow. As clear a description of paranoid schizophrenia symptoms as I have ever encountered in nineteenth century writings... Unfortunately for the defendant, the inherited genetic basis for these didn't get established for another 100+ years, and they usually have NOTHING to do with brain injuries...
Sad for him as well as the victims...
