Reduced This is a custom built .40 smooth rifle barrel intended for a halfstock gun. It is 36.75" long by .930". Top flat is stamped ROY UNDERWOOD VICTORIA VA and bottom flat stamped No 1 1981. It is complete and in the white. Bore is shiny with old grease remaining in spots. I got this information on the builder from a member on the American Longrifles Association site:
"Mr. Underwood was a talented furniture maker in Victoria. He built several rifles from scratch .I do not know where he obtained barrel blanks., but I do know he rifled them on a rifling bench that he built himself. I am a native of Victoria and knew Mr. Underwood all my life. The rifling bench is still around. He and his brothers were excellent craftsmen." $50 + Shipping.
