Please help me date this rifle.

This is a custom .54 Southern rifle. I was told it was copied patterned after 1812 era. I am not sure and would appreciate any help giving a general idea of when a rifle like this could have been carried. Please disregard the buckhorn sights. Those are for older eyes, not historical accuracy.
I am curious as to what period folks think it is. I am hoping it works for 1812 on, but I am betting 1830's.
