Some additional information - Thomas Fowler of Dublin - late 18th Century to early 19th Century - was as Gunmaker on Capel Street in Dublin from 1796 to 1825. He seems to have moved around the shops in Capel Street Dublin - as shown here -

could you show a photo of the bore? because if it were mine I'd give it a good cleaning and fire the thing. Just thinking about the history that might be behind that pistol would make my mind wonder into the past.

I tried but I couldn’t get a clear photo to show the entire bore. It looks to be in good shape and is consistent throughout. I also think about the history and the stories it could tell.

The bore looks shootable. Before I made a wall hanger out of I'd have to shoot it a few times.
 
A quick way to tell if a barrel is ok, is to hold it by the tang and tap the barrel in various places to make it ring.
If it rings and does not go thud it is probably ok to use.
