I will list this one before I change my mind. Pietta Single Action Starr. 44 cal. Pistol has good and bad. The good - pistol is new in the box and unfired. Excellent condition and comes with two extra cylinders. The bad - the pistol needs tuned to be useable. The pistol cocks through 5 chambers fine and gets hung up on the 6th. I thought I would be able to tune myself but couldn't find anything online on how to do it. So I put it away in case I ever found someone who could. I was told that all the SA Starrs need tuned to some degree, I guess this one needs it too. The cylinders sell for about $100 each, the gun in good condition $600. Let's try $500 plus shipping where legal for the lot. On hold pending payment!

Could you explain what you mean by hung up on the sixth. Does the hand not engage the ratchet on the sixth or does it rotate the cylinder but not to where the hammer is at full cock or does it not cock to lockup on the sixth? I am interested but need this info! Thanks!

The fact it cocks fine on all but one chamber points to an issue with the cylinder ratchet possibly being out of spec or having a burr, same with the bolt notches. If this happens on both cylinders it’s stranger still, but could be a manufacturing flaw. We need more details OP.

The gun also has a very deep, very serious turn line on the cylinder. This gun has either been cocked a ton of times or perhaps the bolt is too sharp causing the cutting action.

The gun cycles (hammer cocks and cylinder rotates) fine on five of the chambers. On the sixth chamber it meets resistance and won't cock all the way. I talked to a gun Smith about it and was told the inner mechanism needs tuned. He was not familiar with black powder guns and wouldn't attempt it. I put it away until now.
