I have a CVA lock that suddenly has a 54 lb trigger pull. It cocks fine. The set trigger works. The hammer will go down smoothly with trigger pulled but when cocked it is a 54 lb (feels like it) pull. Is this a fly issue maybe??

The fly may be broke? You might have to remove the lock and check.
The fly is just that, a fly to allow the sear to ‘fly’ (jump) over the safety notch. Nothing to do with trigger pull.
Top lock in ‘full cock’
Bottom in 1/2 cock (safe notch)

To me it sounds more like a 'CVA triggers inlet too deep' issue requiring you to try to compress the wood enough to get the trigger to work.

Either that or some 'full-cock notch is WAY too deep' issue.
