Pennsylvania “can’t miss muzzleloader shop” ?

Traveling from Vermont to South Georgia next week, taking Rte 81 thru Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and then cutting down to Rte 95 after Washington DC. Stopping in Pennsylvania one night, probably N.Carolina the next. Are there any super gun shops, featuring traditional muzzleloaders on or near these roads. We are flexible as to time, no rushing around at my age. The trip down can be half the fun. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I would suggest perhaps the greatest muzzleloader store is Dixons in Kempton. Get off of 81 at Clarks Summit and take the PA turnpike (aka Northeast extension) to Kempton and then when you are done there get on 78 and back to 81. A bit out of the way but worth it. Make sure they are open when you are going. Of course, if you are broke after you leave Dixon's just head back to Vermont.

Dixons in PA is a good one. Have to see if its too far out of tour way though
Also Nichols is right off the highway they are a more modern shop but do have a small ML section. Great place to stretch the legs. We stop every year on way to GA to find piggys

According to MapQuest it is 153 miles from Clarks Summit to Harrisburg via Kempton. It is 134 miles from Clarks Summit to Harrisburg via 81. So, about 20 miles extra if I did it right. https://www.facebook.com/dixonmlshop/

Fort Chambers Black Powder Gun Shop is just off the Scotland exit on Rt 81 in Chambersburg, PA. There is also a Sportsmans Warehouse right across the road.

In Virginia, Taylor's Firearms has a showroom not far off of Rt 81 in Winchester.

Wow! Thanks for the good info. Guess we will be stopping in Chambersburg first night. If I leave early enough I can catch them both on Friday. Next stop Carolinas, any good muzzleloader shops there?

Fort Chambers is a great place and the two gentlemen who work there are very helpful.

Very easy to access from the interstate as well.

Dixon's on the way to Kempton , Pa. is a must see. Ft. Chambers is a good stop too. Both lose to I-81.
