Got in this beauty back from Clay Smith:

It’s one of Clay’s dandy Type G Carolina trade gun. Takes 24 balls to the pound. Historically correct red oxide (rust) based paint. 48” long and weighs just north of 6 lbs. balances beautifully and the rear sight makes it a great round ball gun.

We had a slight issue with the paint not being cured properly but Clay fixed it right up. Standup guy and I can’t wait to get this back on the range!

That barrel is so long, he almost had to open the kitchen door to allow it to fit in the house! Beautiful gun, and I like the painted stocks, but only if correct paint, as this is. Makes me want to want one! So handsome, it looks almost "modern"! If a' blue' would be OK for a Native, it'd be OK for me!

I have the book on St. Etienne and Tullies by Gladyzes(?) and there is a drawing of the exact same sight on a drawing of a Tulle.
What page? I don’t recall that sight being on any Tulle gun on any of the published works. I could have overlooked it.
