:hmm: Since I was not exactly sure just where to post these, I thought it would be safe to drop them here. Moderators please feel free to re-position them as you see fit.
A few weeks ago a life long friend stopped by my shop for a yarn. Work had been a little slow so I was playing (running ball). He was facinated and watched for awhile, then he says " I got just the thing for that" He told me he had got it out of the ruins of an old blacksmith shop up the coast a ways. I would imagine that it had been used to pour lead for "fishing leads" for the commercial fishermen years ago. I do remember another local blacksmith pouring "leads" when I was a kid, but can't say as I recall what he used for moulds, ladels etc. I do however remember that as kids we would sell him scrap lead for $.10 a pound.
There is a manufactuers name and logo on this one, but it too badly pitted to tell exactly what it says.

Looks like my lyman ladle, only older, bigger and more experienced!
Nice treasure, good friend and I would use it if it were mine!
