When Mississippi did away with primitive weapons season and made it scoped 45-70 and 35 Whelen season all the stores in the area quit carrying caps and powder. Walmart here never carried black powder that I recall but they had pyrodex and caps (on occasion, musket caps) and at the end of hunting season would put them on clearance. I stocked up thinking that if BP became unavailable I could switch to pyrodex and musket caps. See, I’m not really stupid, I just look this way. I haven’t seen this stuff in probably over 10 years. It is probably fertilizer now. Don’t know when I will get to test it, I still have a couple of pounds of real powder and hardly ever get to shoot anymore and when I do I don’t want to waste time checking out stuff that I didn’t like when it was fresh.
