Ha! I was going to shoot my Centermark fusil de chasse on Saturday so I had it set up in the gun cradle on the workbench on Friday night to clean the grease out of the bore. I KNEW how my cheekbone would feel on Saturday night. Just then, my eyes spotted a wood rasp lying on a shelf. I figured I had nothing to lose so I grabbed it and made the sawdust fly off the "hump" on the top of the stock. I took off about a half inch of wood and flattened and rounded the top profile, sanded, matched the stain, and applied 3 coats of finish all before beddy-by. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE!!! Now I can shoot it ALL DAY without the slightest pain. The stock still has "the look" of a fusil too. If I didn't tell you, you'd never know it was done. YIPPEE! cheers Paul

Reading this brings joy to my heart. Just another reason I happily visit this site to glean from the successes as individulas come into a simple solution.

glad to hear of your success! "if it ain't broke, don't fix it..." on the other hand, if it don't work right, make it proper!

Sometimes as little as 3/16 will do the job, nice going, any pics to show the final profile for comparison to other fusils?
