Just trying to educate myself for casual shooting. Since it's not a in-line with a 209 it's a whole different animal. Is there any type of pyrodex or white hot out there that I can use with a ball and a patch in this single shot pistol with caps? I just want to take my kids out to experience the whole black powder pistol fun. But just as an introductory I would like to simplify it as much as possible to start.
Thank you,
Will

Pyrodex-P, 777-3F or black FFF. If it's a smoothbore and you can come up with a few wads of the correct size, load up some light weight shot loads and let them break some clay birds set up on a target stand up close. They will have more fun doing that than poking holes in paper or dirt.

I would go with the lowest Cost Pyro P, 777 is pretty costly, Black Powder needs to be cleaned right after and soap and water.

Sounds like you just want to have fun and Pyro P will do that.

Agreed shooting tin cans or clay targets is the fun part for kids.
