A guy brought me an old classic hunting knife he found in a thrift store with no sheath. This guy always visits me at the farmer's market and wants me to make knives, sheaths, pouches, and whatever else he can think of. He handed me a piece of paper with a drawing on it in pencil and said to make it like that. This isn't an 18th century knife by any means but the design was initially manufactured in the later 19th and remained a popular hunting and camp knife throughout the early 20th century. It's made from veg-tanned tooling leather, dyed dark brown, and double hand stitched with artificial sinew. Thought I would take a few pictures of the process.
