Looking at this website, I see some really fair prices on muskets and pistols. None have the vent holes drilled, but that’s nothing. Has anyone ever had experience with this site? They seem to have a fairly solid return policy for full money back, just pay for shipping. The pistol I am looking at would only be for blanks and the odd day I wanted to see if it could hit a target. They also seem to have a “sister site” called “Veteranarms” who sell the same merchandise for a little higher price. Same descriptions, etc.
I just have a fear of the old saying, “if it’s cheap enough for you to buy it brand new, you better be careful.”

As dave said, the guns are made in India.
India has very difficult to meet laws when it comes to exporting any kind of firearm. By leaving the vent hole out of the gun, it is not classified as a working firearm so it gets around the Indian laws.

I suggest following this links to see a lot of discussion about these guns.

As for discussing the merits or demerits of Indian made guns, this is not the place to do it. This is the Gun Builder's Bench area where we talk about working on or building guns.
Talking about locating and drilling the vent hole in one of these guns would be OK but talking about the guns in general should be done in the Smoothbore, handgun or rifle sections of the forum.
