Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I hand lube my bullets with bore butter. I don't seem to have any accuracy that way. I bought a sizer/luber but haven't shot those bullets yet. I use SPG in the sizer/luber.
I have a 45 cal 3 band rifle and a 50 cal carbine. Both 1863's.
I push in the bullet, add some corn meal filler and then add the powder. Even tho I can't hit much I love shooting the dang things.
Both are Shiloh Sharps from the 1970's IIRC.

Hot lube sounds good.
The corn meal is for filler to keep the powder from spreading out.
Looks like a nice rifle. Especially love the double set trigger! Love the checkering also!
Both of mine only have the single trigger.
