Will a Lyman Great Plains HUNTER barrel fit on a regular Lyman Great Plains Rifle?

How about a hunter barrel on a Lyman Trade Rifle will that fit?

Thanks

The O/M owners Manual only list one part number for both the Rifle/Hunter stock so I would say yes and in the product book page 37, right lower, list a 'Fast Twist" drop in barrel for the Rifle to a fast twist Hunter.percussion or Flint.
Now as for the Trade Rifle can't say,O/M shows different Numbers, picture looks different so get in touch with them www.lymanproducts.com go to the source

Trade Rifle and Great Plains stocks and barrels are not interchangable. The former has only one wedge/tenon and the later has two.

Enjoy, J.D.

They swap just fine on the Great Plains, but I think not on the Trade.

As for details on the swap with the GP, I don't have the manuals any more, and can't recall if the verbs and nouns were in the general manual or the one for a kit. But I recall that one gave instructions for minor file work that might sometimes be necessary on the hook of a new barrel to make it fit a particular gun. We have a number of GP's around here and swap barrels around at will without ever encountering it. A bud had a replacement barrel that required about three light strokes on the hook to remove a bur, and that's the closest I've heard to a "problem," even with the forewarning from Lyman.
