Does any one have or know where I can Find the plans for a loading stand for a single shot pistol. In this case a Kentucky pistol.
If you do please let me know. thanks
Jim

Thanks for all the help.
I love the plans you sent Articap.
All these pictures have given me a lot to think about as well.
I will post a pic when I get around to building it.

Thanks again

JIm

Although this block is made for a cap & ball pistol and is smaller than the ones needed for a single shot you can see that a couple of small blocks of wood and a hinge can make a nice folding loading block.

The ideas keep coming.

I just wanted to share with you that an article I wrote for the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA), Muzzle Blast Magazine will be published in the January 2010 issue. I was asked to write the article by the editor because the traditional shooting sport was lacking reliable research in the area of Black Powder Pistol Loading Stands. Eric (the Editor) asked me if I would be interested in writing an article for the readers of Muzzle Blast. Muzzle Blast is published monthly by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. Material content of the publication relates only to the muzzle loading firearms, accoutrements, and historical data of that particular era.

The article is title “Building a Muzzle Loading Pistol Stand". The article covers firearms training in black powder weapons, safety, and the need to standardize range-shooting supplies for the black powder enthusiast. The article also includes a few different building plans for Pistol Stands.

Respectfully,
Mark Bond

Mark, thanks for writing that article; very detailed and informative. I have made a couple of pretty nice stands, but it is always nice to get other ideas.

I have plans for this one and another type but don't know how to post them here, I will send them if but need a email address.
The other stand is for single shot pistols.

Mark,

Thanks for writing the article. I haven't seen it yet as my Muzzleblasts hasn't been delivered yet. A good friend of mine has been making pistol loading stands for several years. This is a much needed piece of safety equipment as far as I'm concerned.

I encourage everyone to use one, for a good safe time!

Dave
