Hello everyone, need some help last year bought a used leather canteen, nice piece decent price the problem is this year during hunting season it leaks.I preped the canteen prior to using it by filling and letting it soak for a night, It is brewers pitched, thought about bees waxing it but would rather not, is there a way to heat it and re-seal the canteen.I have never worked with brewers pitch. any reccomendations would be appreciated.BING

I would start by letting it dry out, very dry. Then heat up some new brewers pitch and pour in the canteen, pour the excess out.

I think if you try to heat the pitch that's already in side the canteen, you might burn the leather. Maybe a hair dryer could do it. :idunno:

Thanks for the in-sight skunk skinner, will put some thought into your suggestion, looks like a new learning experience is about to bloom, BING
