Are they any good my local GD has one fer $425.00 caliber 45 cap lock

My first muzzleloader was a Kentuckian flintlock. It was a pretty good rifle and at the time I considered it to be better than the CVA's being sold in 1970.
The price they are asking seems a bit high to me and if it breaks a mainspring you may have a hard time finding a replacement.

You might want to double check the caliber. Back when I bought mine they were sometimes marked as .45 but they were actually .44 caliber. The .44 caliber guns shoot a .430 diameter roundball which is available from Track of the Wolf.
