My name is Jay Cottrell. Im 33, a taxidermist from Hart County Kentucky. Been wanting to get into traditional black powder for quite a while. Recently bought an invest arms Cabela’s hawk en flintlock. Got a good deal on it. I like it, but soon I’d like to swap it out for a long stock with a steep comb. My son (5) and I recently went to my first rendezvous and had a really good time. Look forward to going to monthly shoots with the bucksnort longhunters club. I also do a little flint knapping and enjoy aquariums, vintage small outboards and putting my boat on the river.

Yes moved here about 8 years ago don't do much shooting anymore due to injuries. Been meaning to check out Bucksnort but their shoots seem to conflict with the group I ride with. Been trying to build rifles from all the parts I have collected over the years before I die. The rifle I just finished I donated to the group I ride with to help raise money for our Christmas for Kids fund. It will probably find a new home next month which will once again leave me without a rifle. No big deal since the next one has already been started.
