I had a think, and then a re-think, and decided to share this with you here. I'd previously posted this link on another forum, based in the GWN.

I found this interesting piece today whilst looking for something else. The link has a total of 23 images.

There was stunned disbelief at the price asked for this interesting piece - but I'd interested to hear what folks here might have to say that might go some way to justifying it.

TIA

Well , if it is documented in being involved in a historical rebellion, I guess it could sell for that much. Probably a good thing it was found in Ireland put away. In the Canadian wilderness it may have had a short useful life, shot out rifling and a busted stock, then given to the kids to play with to ruin it further when dad got a Winchester or Snider….

Correct me if I'm wrong as my knowledge is limited. A thread on here last year about Canadian rifle makers led me to believe that they were few in number, difficult to find any information on, and surviving examples of their work even more hard to come by. If that is correct with the provenance that price may be up there but to the right high roller worth it.
