Looking at this pistol and wondering if anybody has experience about the reliability of this particular lock. I understand the India made flintlocks are generally a mixed bag. I like my matchlock just fine but am more worried about this piece.

They do have a return policy. My doglock from them works perfect.

I used to own one. I sold it years ago after replacing it with a custom build from parts from TRS. Mine seem to work well enough. As with all Indian made locks, it can be hit or miss. Have them test/verify the lock will spark well on the very pistol you intend on buying. That way, if the lock still needs a bit of tuning after you receive it, the work will likely be minor. It's a big, heavy horse pistol for sure.

Since Janissary is relatively new here, I would like to say the Janissaries in history were an interesting fighting force! I sort of long time had my eye on this Jannisary chess set. I bought another from them (a Littlebighorn set). Made in Turkey. Very much handmade which adds to the charm.

Battle was fought in 1453 and firearms used. One King is Constantine, the last Roman emperor, and stalwart of Christianity. The other King is Memehd II perhaps Islam's greatest general. Queens are based on the real persons. Islam pawns are Janissaries.
