Trade rifles were made back in the day. Henry and Leman made them, basically simple rifles of decent quality. I think they were imported, too.

I have a GPR and can only say good things about it. I like the buckhorn sights for plinking, but put Lymans peep sight on it for target shooting with great results. They also offer a good selection of replacement front sights for target shooting. I would buy the less expensive gun and spend the savings on more powder and ball, and then shoot the heck out of it.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their knowledge abnout the Lyman GPR and Pedersoli PA rifles. Learned alot and believe the GPR will fit my needs. Thanks to all, appreciate it very much.

The Italian made guns are very good now.During WW2 they made Carcanos that even the arabs in N. Africa wouldn't pick up.
