Happy to be here! I just got ahold of some black powder pistols. Hoping to learn how to use them or possibly sell them.

I belong to a local non profit in Phoenix AZ. We're pirates (yeah, in the desert!). We all portray our own characters, and some of us have flintlocks as part of our costumes .I'd like one that actually fires!

Does anyone have a NAPOLEON LE PAGE PERCUSSION PISTOL (WHITE)? That's one of the ones I got.

By the time percussion came in, the golden age of piracy was over. A flintlock pistol (maybe a dog lock or miquelet?) is what you need for historical accuracy. And / or a matchlock musket, if you're doing 17th century.

Yes, flintlocks misfire more than percussion, at least if you are not a frequent flint shooter. (I'm not, so my flintlock pistol misfires too.) It's a skill.

I'm not saying get rid of your LePage. I love mine, and shoot it in monthly club competition. It should be rifled, at least if you got a good one: Le Page ® Pistols
