Welcome from Packer country. Thinking of the 1861 for my next rifle ...

I think quite highly of my 1861. I enjoy the mini ball because it is patchless and very accurate. My rife has a crisp 3 pound trigger pull thanks to Dave @ Daves Gun Shop in Westport, WA with Reviews that makes it a dream to shoot and capable of accuracy I am unable to produce.

I live in Yelm now. I spent many years in Othello just down range from you in Washougal. I occasionally go to the Tri-Cities area to hunt fossils in the White Bluffs where I can wear my Walker for snakes and just to enjoy the feel of "packing iron"

I'm a member of Renton Fish and Game Club. Let me know if you feel like checking it out sometime. We shoot a lot of different black powder guns (flintlocks, cap and ball, antique BPCR).
