Hello I'm interested in old firearms, old books I sell some antiques do film extra work I'm starting to do some acting and I work at pop festivals.

I have a odd big old smoothbore with a 60 inch long barrel, that Im looking for information on and plan on trying to restore it

it has the barrel with the stock and trigger and most of the brass buttplate, the locks missing and the sideplate and most of the trigger guard and ram rod .

But really it looks to be a interesting project will take some photos and post, anyway best wishes to you all

So how is it there over the big pond? If you post a picture of your rifle in the PHOTO'S section there are some folks here that can give you Some information on it. We have a few folks on here from England.

Heidi Yawl,

Just in case you never heard a Texan! Seriously, welcome to the group. Have seen only one fowler with a barrel that long and one modern reproduction in .62" bore of the same length. As stated above, pictures would be a big help in possibly helping you with identification and restoration. Lots of accumulated knowledge here. Good luck with your project and welcome!

60" barrel is probably a bank gun.

Not for robbing banks, it's for commercial wildfowling, shooting from behind a bank
