Welcome from Florida!

Hahira is several hours northwest of me, but I’ve been there.

For the folks who are unfamiliar, “Hahira” is supposed to be pronounced “HAY-high-ruh.” It’s not far from Cairo (KAY-ro) and Albany (ALL-binny). There used to be a lot of music in that area. I knew an elderly fiddler in Enigma, Georgia (same general area) back in the day. He was a nice man, a terrific musician, and he knew an astonishing number of real old-time tunes.

There is a blackpowder group nearby, I think based in Havana (HAY-vanna), Georgia, called Brushy Creek Muzzleloaders. I’ve never shot with them, but I hear they are a good outfit. There is also a group in Tallahassee, called Jefferson Longrifles. If you are an NMLRA member, you’ll find contact information for both of these in Muzzle Blasts magazine. If you aren’t a member and you’re interested in meeting with these folks, send me a private message and I’ll reply with their contact information.

You're a few hours south of me. I hope to get down to observe/shoot with the Brushy Creek Muzzleloader lot near Valdosta this spring... maybe we'll cross paths. Welcome from Central GA
