Looks like a lot of interesting info on this site as well as informed people. I am more of a collector than a hunter only due to health I was a daily hunter after school from 8th grade through high school. I've collected military rifles for a few years but I am finding I am more interested in flintlocks these days and know almost nothing about them. I recently purchased my first Flintlock rifle at an auction. I think I did ok on price but it is a fine contemporary rifle not really an historic gun. So my goal is to learn what I have and learn more on the collecting of antique guns. The rifle I purchased is a fine gun made by Phillip Cravener and his Father in Pennsylvania. It measures .44-.45 at the muzzle and doesn't look like its been shot but a few times. I would love to know the value at some point as I will be selling it and looking for more historic rifles. The cost of these is not something I can find much on the internet . The range is 2000-5000 and those are all auction type sales so who knows. Right now I am just learning the difference between a Fowler and a Kentucky or Pennsylvania rife and I'm not sure what that is yet. So please jump in with any positive friendly comments ......
thanks
