Are there any barrel markings on your rifle? Looks like a Santa Fe Hawken from the late 70’s/ early 80’s. I believe they were produced by Uberti. The first models were distributed by Western Arms in 54cal.(actually 53 cal, using a 52cal LRB). I purchased a Santa Fe Hawken kit, later replacing the original walnut stock with maple. It’s a superb shooter!

So did any of the mass production companies use Douglas barrels or is it likely custom made?
I wouldn't call the Ithacas mass produced since they didn't produce that many but they came either as a kit or prebuilt with Douglas barrels and Cherry Corner lock, triggers, and othe parts.

Some call it a cleanout screw, but it is just a plug for a thru hole from the manufacturing process. Has to do with the vent ole on the lock side is drilled.

Seems to me the guy is looking for information also on his item. We are giving it to him.
