I went up to the new location last year (2022) and raved about it on this site. The countryside is so beautiful, yet only a short trip from major Rt. 22. The new digs don't really affect Dixon's negatively, as every wagon train that creaks up the roadway stops at Dixon's FIRST! Their sponsorship for so long had a major impact on the muzzleloading sport!

Don't know about the Kempton Fairgrounds, but there are a number of Campgrounds in the area.
Where does everyone stay ? I was there 32 years ago so I don’t remember

campgrounds nearby -robin hill or blue rocks
Last year we were told volunteers/vendors can camp there but general public can not. Several campgrounds nearby.
We had a trappers convention there in 88 . I sort of remember a Restraunt or bar close also .
There is one very close. Walking distance, Kempton Hotel. Never been there. About 1/4 mile away.

There's a big Cabela and Cigar World a bit further West off Rt. 22; maybe there's modern motels there, too?

There are plenty of motels in the area. You can look up Fogelsville, Pa. There are a couple there and only about 10 miles from Kempton. The Kempton Hotel and Hummels Restaurant in Lenhartsville are great places to eat.
