A beautiful 1760s English fowling piece is illustrated on the Contemporary Makers blog.

What would it cost to reproduce this one, Mike?
More than I can afford.

God bless

Outstanding! The craftmanship is beyond words. Makes my builds look like a 2x4 tied to a piece of pipe. I really wouldn't know what to do with a gun like that. I would be too nervous to use it.

Is it just me, or do those dolls look especially evil :shocked2: ? Bill

Beautuful gun for sure, for those who have never looked at Lenks gun "The Flinlovck and its Development" I think that is correct, it is well worth the time with some dreamy high art guns from the 17th 18th century a library inter load would be worth the effort.

Right on  ,TG, Lenk's book is one of the best books I have picked up. Although a high percentage of the arms pictured were built for the higher class of society, it is still a wealth of knowledge. And it is a great reference for period engraving if one is inclined to try their hand in this part of gun building.
