This is a handmade Kentucky style 45 flintlock by Frank Burton of Winston-Salem, NC, circa late 60s-early 70s. It was a gift to my father by one of his patients there. It has never been fired and is in excellent condition Frank was a fine gunsmith who lived in Winston-Salem and was associated with John Bivens (a master carver) and Lew Sanchez. This particular example has a well designed stock, pewter nose cap, silver front sight blade on the 10 in barrel, and lovely engraved brass mountings. A beautiful piece and addition to someone's collection.
