It's possible that the seller does not have his home settings set right.
If the "Contact Details" is not set so you can receive private messages (Conversations) you won't get any messages even though several people have sent them.

To fix the problem, go to the icon in the upper right side of the screen and hold the cursor arrow over the little image that looks like a head and shoulders.

Select "Contact Details".

Look for "Message Preferences" and the boxes right below it. Both "recieve site mailings" and "Accept conversations from" should have a check mark in the box.
Right below the "Accept Conversations" line you are given a choice of only letting people you follow send you messages or "Members Only". Choose the "Members Only" setting so you can receive PM's from all of the forum members.

Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Oh. While I'm at it for you folks who haven't gotten a message because your settings weren't set up right, if you do get a message you will see a red number in the icon that looks like an envelope.
