does any one have a clue who may have made this for fie need a hand and cly stop thank you dan

twotrack:
I'm assuming this is a FIE Remington .36 or .44 caliber revolver.

FIE was an importer located in Florida who has long sense gone out of business. Many of the revolvers they imported were made in Italy.

If your gun was made there it will have the Italian Proof marks along with a rectangular box with two or three letters or roman numerals in it which indicate the year it was proofed.

Although there have been several different companies who made these revolvers most of the parts from one gun will fit the others so, to see the part sold by Dixie Gunworks follow this link:

Interesting. I learned something there. FIE apparently is (or was) an importer/distributor.

I assume 'cly stop' is the bolt (aka cylinder stop).

Apologies for my misunderstanding. Zonie is right on the mark. You may also be able to find parts at VTI Gun Parts: VTI Gun Parts

zonie and mykeal thanks for the information.mykeal no apologies needed.i'll try both places. dan

FIE-Firearms Import Export out of Hialeah Fl. Imported a lot of really cheap guns and went under due to the ban on Saturday night specials or at least that's what I heard.

My first Black powder revolver was an FIE Remington in 44 caliber I bought from Southern Gun Distributors back in 1978. It was a kit that was finished but not assembled. It cost $24.99 and I believe FIE asked Pietta or maybe ASM to make up some kits out of parts from their trash bin...........But the gun actually shot pretty good even with its .025 inch barrel cylinder gap............Evidentally it also had real small chambers as it was a bear to load a .451 ball into the chamber. I soon broke the loading lever where it pivots. The cylinder ratchet imprinted itself into the rear of the soft brass frame and eventually the frame looked warped from firing the 28 to 30 grain loads of "Meteor" sporting black powder. It was a $25

this is a 36 cal and the internal parts are very crude also i did find out it was proofed in 1978 according to the a-d mark.have not found any thing about the r over p mark on the bottom of the grip.to the rest of you who have shared information on this thank you dan
